DAY 1-2

Kathmandu

  • After arriving at Kathmandu airport, a member of our team will meet you and transfer you to your hotel, where you will spend your first night.

  • This afternoon, you will have time to shop in Kathmandu if you need to pick up any last-minute items.

  • In the evening, you will join us for a welcome dinner and meet your guide for the first time. During dinner, your guide will review the route you will be embarking on.

  • Those staying an extra night will have an included tour of the UNESCO sites.

DAY 2-3

Lukla > Paiya: 2,730m/8,956ft - 12km / 6 hours

  • Today, you will fly to Lukla Airport, famously known as the most dangerous airports in the world! You'll start your day early with a bus ride to either Kathmandu or Ramechhap.

  • Upon arrival, you'll meet the rest of the team, including additional porters and guides, and enjoy some tea and coffee together.

  • From Lukla, we set off on a trek towards Paiya, passing through verdant forests and crossing a scenic bridge over the Handi Khola River.

  • The route takes us through the village of Surke before ascending to the Chutok La pass. Paiya, also known as Chutok, is a small, tranquil settlement along our path. 

Paiya > Panggom: 2,846m/9,337ft - 10km / 5 to 6 hours

  • Departing from Paiya, we descend toward a small bridge, taking extra care on the slippery path beyond. We then ascend to Kari La pass, traversing through a dense forest of bamboo and rhododendron.

  • The journey continues with breathtaking views of the Dudhkoshi Valley.

  • Finally, we reach Panggom, a small village with a farming community, where we spend the night in a cozy tea house.

DAY 3-4

DAY 4-5

Panggom > Ningsow: 2,863m/9,393ft - 12km / 7 to 8 hours

  • Leaving Panggom, we will embark on the trail and traverse the Panggom La pass. From this vantage point, the path gently ascends before curving northward.

  • We then cross Peseng Kharka River and make our way up to Peseng Kharka Danda. Continuing on, we’ll reach the Ningsow River, where we’ll cross and enter the charming village of Ningsow.

  • Tonight, relax and unwind at a cozy tea house in Ningsow.

DAY 5-6

Ningsow > Chhatra Khola: 2,800m/9,186ft - 10km / 7 to 8 hours

  • Today, we will set of after breakfast to trek to Chhatra Khola.

  • When we reach Ramailo Danda, for the first time, we will have some stunning views of Mera Peak.

  • As we navigate the winding terrain, we find ourselves in the enchanting Makalu Barun National Park, where the Pasang Lhamu trail leads us towards Chhatra Khola.

DAY 6-7

Chhatra Khola > Kothe: 3,691m/12,109ft - 12km / 6 to 7 hours 

  • As we make our way to Kothe, the path meanders through vibrant bamboo and serene pine forests, culminating in a lunch stop at Taktor Village, where trails from Thuli Kharka and Chhatra Khola converge.

  • Post-lunch, we trek past the ghost village of Tashing Dingma, tracing the banks of the Inkhu Khola as the Hinku Valley unfolds before us, revealing breathtaking views of Mera Peak.

  • Finally, the trail leads us along the river ridge to Kothe, signaling our entry into the stunning Makalu Barun National Park.

DAY 7-8

Kothe > Thaknak: 4,358m/14,297ft - 7.5km / 3 to 4 hours

  • Our journey then leads us to Thangnak.

  • As we hike along the glacial river, stunning views of Mera Peak and Kusum Kanguru accompany us on a clear day.

  • The trail offers a gentle challenge, so we take our time to adjust.

DAY 9-10

Khare Acclimatisation

  • Spend the day resting in Khare.

  • Enjoy a relaxing evening, with the opportunity to refine your climbing skills and check your gear.

DAY 8-9

Thaknak > Khare: 4,358m/14,297ft - 2 to 3 hours

  • Begin your day with breakfast at Thaknak before following the Dig Glacier moraine, leading to the expansive Dig Kharka pasture.

  • Enjoy breathtaking views of Charpate Himal as you navigate the climbing trail to the snout of Hinku Nup and Shar glaciers.

  • Reach the picturesque location of Khare, where you'll be treated to spectacular sights of Mera Peak.

DAY 10-11

Khare > Mera High Camp: 5,780m/18,958ft - 6 to 7 hours

  • The climb to Mera Peak High Camp is a challenging yet rewarding day, starting from Khare. The 4-5 hour trek crosses snowfields and glacial terrain.

  • Along the way, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of Himalayan giants like Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. High Camp, perched on a rocky outcrop, offers stunning vistas but basic facilities, so warm gear is essential as temperatures drop significantly.

  • After arriving, you'll rest, hydrate, and prepare for the summit push, with an early dinner and a briefing before heading to bed for a midnight start.

DAY 11-12

Mera Peak Summit Day: 6,461m/21,190ft - 8 to 9 hours

  • Today is summit day! We will embark on our ascent to Mera Peak, standing at 6,461 meters, starting our climb at 1:00 a.m.

  • Upon reaching the summit, we are rewarded with stunning panoramic views of five of the world's tallest mountains, including Mt. Everest and Mt. Kanchenjunga, capturing unforgettable moments.

  • After enjoying the summit, we descend back to Khare, where we will spend the night at a guesthouse, reflecting on our incredible journey.

DAY 12-13-14

Contingency Day

  • We have allocated two extra days as a contingency in case of weather or other unforeseen issues.

  • You have the option to continue descending and take your rest day further along the trail, or to rest in Khare.

DAY 14-15

Khare > Kothe: 3,600m/11,808ft / 4-5 Hours

  • Leaving Khare, we descend to Kothe, following the same trail we used earlier. The route provides excellent views of the surrounding mountains as we gradually make our way down. 

  • Upon arrival in Kothe, settle into a tea house for the night, where you'll have a chance to rest and prepare for the next stage of the journey.

DAY 15-16

Kothe > Thuli Kharka: 4,300 m/14,107ft - Duration: 5-6 Hours

  • From Kothe, the journey continues with a trek to Thuli Kharka. The trail begins with a steady ascent through lush forests of rhododendron and pine, offering occasional glimpses of snow-capped peaks in the distance. The path is undulating, with sections of uphill and downhill stretches, making it a moderately challenging day.

  • As you approach Thuli Kharka, the landscape transitions to more open terrain, with expansive views of the surrounding valleys. This section of the trek is known for its tranquillity and fewer crowds, providing a peaceful atmosphere.

DAY 16-17

Thuli Kharka > Lukla: 2,800m/9,184ft via Zatrwa La Pass Duration: 6-7 Hours

  • The next day, the trek takes you from Thuli Kharka to Lukla, marking the final leg of your journey. The trail begins with a gradual climb to cross the Zatrwa La Pass, a high point that offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. 

  • After crossing the pass, the trail descends steeply toward Lukla, passing through villages and terraced fields as you near the end of the trek. The route becomes easier as you lose elevation, and the familiarity of Lukla’s bustling atmosphere signals the conclusion of your adventure. 

  • Once in Lukla, settle into a teahouse for the night, reflecting on the journey before preparing for your flight back to Kathmandu.

DAY 18

Kathmandu > Airport

  • It's your last day in Nepal!

  • Today you will have an included airport transfer to catch your international flight home.

DAY 17-18

Lukla > Kathmandu

  • On the final morning, you’ll take an early flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.

  • Due to the unpredictable weather in Lukla, it’s important to remain flexible as flights can be delayed or rescheduled.

  • Upon arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to your accommodation and take the rest of the day to relax or explore the city at your own pace. 

  • Tonight you will have an included celebration dinner.
